Gynosexuality is a sexual orientation that includes anyone who finds sexual attraction to femininity and feminine traits. The inverse is Androsexual which is the attraction to masculine traits.

There is a term with negative connotations as it's been adopted by transphobes, and the term Fin sexual is a more inclusive and narrow identification than gynosexual.

Being that this is a fairly new term, this identification may be perfect for those who may feel wrong for being attracted to feminine traits regardless of if they identify as male, female, transgender, etc.

Barbara Carrellas, American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) certified sex educator and ACS certified sexologist, says that:

"Because there's an overlap between gynesexuality (and androsexuality for the masculine spectrum) and other sexual identities, it's a great way of describing someone's attraction to people on the trans spectrum without objectifying or fetishizing trans people."[2]

Gynosexuality could also be inclusive to a non-binary person who was assigned female at birth who is attracted to women, as they may want use this identification to express how they feel attraction towards femininity and not have to fall into the label of "lesbian", thereby implying a personal label upon themselves as a "woman". This could be freeing as a non-binary person using lesbian can now use Gynosexual instead which doesn't assume their gender.[2]
